Nylon N66M40LU is a nylon 6.6 utility material, reinforced 40% with a surface treated mineral selected to improve tensile strength and substantially increase rigidity, especially at higher temperatures. For applications that require resistance to the effects of prolonged exposure to high temperatures, the use of N66M40HSLU, a heat stabilized grade, is recommended. Typical of semi-crystalline polymers, reinforced nylons exhibit outstanding resistance even at elevated temperatures to the effects of a wide range of chemicals, solvents, oils and greases and are therefore suitable for such harsh environments as automotive under-hood.

 

These compounds offer cost-effective solutions to material selection challenges where their performance profile, combined with excellent control of warp and sink, is required. These characteristics have been found especially valuable in large area or complex shape parts.
